Right to Information Act

The Right to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005) has come into existence in 2005. This Act provides right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities for transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority.

Procedure:

1) An application can be directly written to the Information Officer in Marathi or English.
2) The prescribed fees for the application is Rs.10/-
3) No fee is chargeable for Below Poverty Line applicant.
4) The concerned information is provided to the applicant within 30 days. 5) If the applicant is not satisfied with the information provided by Public Information Officer, he/she can appeal to the Appellate Authority.
